In what appears to be one of the key qualities of good leadership, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is a leader with a good heart and foresight.

The payment of workers’ salaries on 24th January, even before the Federal Allocation from the Federal Government, is a testament to his visionary leadership and his commitment to fiscal discipline and accountability.

Since assuming office, Governor Dikko Umaru Raɗɗa has consistently paid workers’ salaries without interruption, alongside the simultaneous execution of major capital projects across the state.

Katsina State Governors have a long standing tradition of prompt salary payments, and Governor Radda has sustained this legacy of responsible leadership.

In addition, Governor Dikko Raɗɗa is setting Katsina apart from several other states that are currently struggling to meet their constitutional obligations.

While many States have been severely affected by challenges surrounding FAAC allocations, particularly in funding recurrent expenditures such as workers’ salaries, the situation in Katsina is different, as Governor Radda has charted a clear path toward financial stability and progress.

What we are witnessing today is not surprising, Governor Radda is a man of discipline who has repeatedly quoted to have stated: “Whatever contract we award, we already have the money in the account. We are not borrowing a single kobo to pay salaries or execute capital projects.”

According to the Director General of Media, Katsina Government House, Alhaji Abdullahi Maiwada, in a chat with the Punch correspondent, he said even without federal allocation, Governor Radda can comfortably pay workers’ salaries up to the month of March.

While many other states, as of 6 February, are yet to pay their workers due to shortfalls in the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursement, Governor Radda has proven to the world that he is a strategic thinker with remarkable foresight in managing economic challenges in the State.

A report published by The Punch newspaper revealed that unresolved disputes between the Federal and State Governments over allocation shortfalls have affected several states. However, this situation has not impacted Katsina State’s cash flow.

“From inception, Governor Radda has adopted very clear policies aimed at improving fiscal discipline and accountability. This has not only strengthened Katsina State’s solvency but has also ensured that in the event of unexpected system glitches or minor challenges such as FAAC impasses, there are safety mechanisms in place to prevent economic downturn,” Maiwada Danmalam stated.

In Katsina State, we are truly blessed to have a leader like Governor Dikko Raɗɗa, who is making giant efforts to lay a solid foundation for the future of the state.
